Hydroseeding
Hydroseeding is an alternative technology for installing a new lawn. After proper grading and soil preparation, our landscape team uses a high pressure machine to spray a compound mixture of grass seed, fertilizer, lime, growth hormones, and hydro-mulch (wood fibers mixed with glue that hold that mixture to the bare soil). Benefits of hydroseeding include better water retention, temperature control, and soil stability. Hydroseeing projects are generally less expensive than sod, but produce the same results over time. Hydroseeding is priced by the square footage of the lawn area.
Lighting
We offer a variety of lighting fixtures for exterior illumination ranging from pathway lights, to tree and shrub directional spotlights, or house highlights. Our control systems can turn your lights on by timer, or light sensors, and can handle the power requirements specific to your installation. Call our team for a lighting design consultation and allow us to create your landscape illumination.
Pavers, Patios, Walkways
To be the best looking house on the block, show off your style with a prestigious stone walkway or a country style patio. We also install full driveways and pool decks with inlaid medallions or custom patterns. We offer many different material to choose from including: pavers, bluestone, flagstone, crushed stone and pea gravel. We start by excavating the ground to the proper depth, to allow for 4-6 inches of compacted base material and stone dust that provides for an excellent foundation on which to lay the stone material. Pavers are set with a special plastic edging to prevent shifting. The final step is to fill the interlocking spaces with stone dust or polymeric sand. Ask one of our landscape professionals to show you some ideas that will work with your lifestyle.
Plants, Trees, Shrubs
When implementing your new landscape, choose between allowing our landscape designers to layout and choose the best plants, trees, and shrubs for your property, or if you desire to aid in the design, feel free to visit our Nursery & Garden Center to choose the plants and trees on your own. After choosing the materials, we'll prepare the area by removing all weeds and debris, add the proper mixture of peat moss and fertilizer, and install the plants and trees. Plant beds are finished with landscape fabrics if desired, followed by one of our many mulches or decorative stones. We'll advise you how to maintain the new plants and trees for years to come.
Retaining Walls
Our retaining wall projects are typically constructed out of natural fieldstone or concrete block. We start by excavating the soil to the desired dimensions, and create a foundation out of 6-8 inches of compacted base materials. We then lay the stone or block according to hill slope. Before backfilling we add adequate drainage pipe and stone to allow for proper water dispersion. For block walls over 4 FT in height, we install a special mesh fabric to help strengthen the wall. Options for walls include steps or planting beds built into the design.
Ponds and Waterfalls
Create relaxation...be pleasantly amazed at the possibilities available to you! A water garden is peaceful and relaxing and will do much to enhance your property. Our pond projects start with a design that will fit your existing landscape. We'll find the ideal location that will catch the eye, and determine if the slope is suitable for a waterfall or stream feature as well. Our team then goes to work digging the hole. We then pad the ground with a soft protective underlayment, followed by a heavy duty poly liner. We'll install the mechanicals including filter, skimmer, pumps, and lights. The final steps include building the waterfall or stream for maximum affect, followed by filling the pond, adding water plants and fish, if so desired.
